Welcome to Jacaranda District
The Jacaranda District is a district of SCOUTS South Africa in Region Gauteng, serving the greater Pretoria area. Named after the jacaranda trees that line the city's streets and turn them violet each spring, the District's roots run from the eastern suburbs of Pretoria out to Cullinan, Roodeplaat, Mamelodi, Nellmapius and Eersterust.
Through its registered Groups — Scout, Sea Scout, Air Scout and Rover — the District delivers the full SCOUTS South Africa programme for young people: Meerkats (5–6), Cubs (7–10), Scouts (11–17) and Rovers (18–30).
The District is led by the District Commissioner and the District Scouters Team, who support every Group from the largest troop to the smallest pack. Every Group is open to new members — contact a Group directly to find out when and where it meets.
